Diplomat Aero

I had avoided purchasing a Diplomat Aero because I did not like the way they looked in the pictures. But when a friend offered to trade me theirs, I jumped at the opportunity because I have heard so many good things about the pen.

The Diplomat Pen Company was founded in 1922 by Carl Räuchlesen. Diplomat was the first to introduce Germany to the ballpoint pen in the 1950s. This was a very popular product and put Diplomat firmly on the pen production map. In 1958, the company was again ahead of the competition, bringing the modern fountain pen and ink cartridges to the German market for the first time — offering a brilliant alternative to the converter fountain pen of the day. Today, Diplomat offers a wide range of pens, including fountain pens, ballpoint pens, and rollerballs, as well as other writing accessories and leather goods. The brand has a strong reputation for quality and durability, and its products are enjoyed by consumers and professionals alike.

The design of the Aero is inspired by the German Zeppelin and immediately catches your eye. The extremely durable metal body is cool to the touch, but warms up quickly when writing. The pen is not exactly comfortable in my hand, and it took a few seconds for me to find a good writing grip. But once I did, the pen impressed me immediately with the near perfect nib and great balance. This pen is very nice to write with for a bit, but because of its odd shape I do find my hand gets a little tired in long writing sessions. Even so, I am very happy to have this pen in my collection and I use it frequently. The absolute coolest thing about the Aero, though, is the very satisfying way the cap clips onto the body of the pen. It’s as addictive as popping those little shipping bubbles. I highly recommend this pen. It is one of my favorites in my collection. Buy Here.
